Last Thursday on the 18th June my uncle passed away, this was not unexpected news but that never makes the loss easier.
Uncle Ken was one of the strongest people I have ever known, he had such a strong fighting spirit and without that I may not have ever got to know him at all. He fought a battle for as long as I can remember and it brings me comfort to know that he doesn’t have to fight anymore and can truly rest. I may not have seen him as often as I’d have liked but I will always love him and I’ll miss him.
Unfortunately with the restrictions I was unable to attend the funeral but thankfully I got to see my Nan for the first time this year and we were able to watch a livestream of the funeral together. It was a beautiful service although having not been there in some ways it still seems sureal, I still feel bad that I couldn't be there to support my family but I just hope that they know that I am thinking of them and wishing I could be there for them.
Rest in Peace Uncle Ken, your fight is over.
