This was a whirl wind trip to meet Ming-Na but having recently become a huge Agents of SHIELD fan I could not pass up the opportunity when I saw she was coming to Australia so I made it work. I had to work the Sunday morning until 7am, went straight to the airport, got on a plane and flew to Sydney, hired a car, drove to the showgrounds and then the fun started. Thankfully I had a friend who pre-brought my tokens for me so I didn’t have to spend a lot of time in queues, the up side of having such a great Con Family!
I was giddy as I queued for my photos with her trying to think of a funny photo idea as I wanted a nice and a silly, boy am I glad that I went with the silly option that I did because it turned out awesome and is definitely up there as one of my favourites. She was lovely to meet and we took the nice photo and then I asked her to pretend to punch me in the face for the second. I had a good laugh once the photo was printed and I got to see it, it was perfect!
After that I sat in for her panel which was great except for the fact my camera stopped working so I didn’t get many photos but it was also nice to sit there and just listen I don’t often get to sit and enjoy panels so it was good. Afterwards I went to queue for my autographs from her, firstly I got my Stargate shirt autographed as always and then I put the silly photo down in front of her for an autograph which was rather amusing because she took one look at it and started laughing before looking up at me and saying that she didn’t realise I had pulled a face as she did it. It was a nice sweet moment that I will always remember.
That done I spent a bit of time hanging with friends before having to rush off back to the airport to fly home, once home I instagrammed my two photos together commenting that we did an unintentional before and after shot and to my surprise Ming-Na retweeted it, just another reason she is awesome! Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most…
